RCMP on the lookout for Slocan Valley man in connection killing of an alpaca by two dogs

Slocan Valley RCMP are on the lookout for a local resident as a result of an investigation from the spring of 2011 and charges have been formally laid against Kai Niels Lind-Rasmussen for drug production and trafficking.
The charges are the result of an April 6 investigation into the killing of an alpaca by two dogs at a Winlaw property.
During the course of the dog attack investigation, police were directed to the dog owner’s property on Youngs Road. A marihuana grow operation was discoverd and a search warrant for the property was sought and authorized.
The search of the house revealed a commercial-style marihuana grow operation consisting of 262 marihuana plants in the basement of the house.
The upper level of the home had a clandestine laboratory that was producing weed oil by utilizing an isoproyl alcohol-based extraction procedure.
Isopropyl Alcohol is a volatile and highly flammable solvent, particularly when it is used indoors in a poorly vented environment. These types of extraction labs are dangerous due to their propensity to cause fires and explosions.
Lind-Rasmussen, 31, is being sought on charges of Production of Marihuana, Production of Cannabis Resin, and Possession of Marihuana and Cannabis Resin for the Purpose of Trafficking.
His current whereabouts are unknown and there is a possibility he may be in either the B.C./Kootenay area, or in the Calgary, Alberta area.
The Slocan Lake RCMP are requesting that Lind-Rasmussen turn himself into police.
