Nelson's Minor Hockey product Reece Hunt and Team BC won it's second bronze medal in as many years Sunday at the 2017 National Women’s Under-18 Championship in Quebec City.

Hunt, now with the Okanagan Hockey Academy, was part of a thrilling 2-1 Team BC overtime victory over Team Saskatchewan.

Rylind MacKinnon’s (Cranbrook, B.C./Northern Alberta, CSSHL) shot from the point beat a red-hot Jordan Ivanco (Saskatoon, Sask./Saskatoon, SFMAAAHL) in the Team Saskatchewan nets to secure the medal for Team BC.

Ivanco faced 48 shots on net for Saskatchewan.

Jenna Buglioni (Port Moody, B.C./Greater Vancouver, BCFMAAA) scored the other goal for Team BC while Saskatchewan’s Miranda Hatt (Regina/Regina, SFMAAAHL) tied the game up at one apiece at 19:32 of the second period.

After finishing with a 3-0 record following wins over Team Saskatchewan, Team Quebec and Team Manitoba, Team BC lost 6-1 to Ontario Red in medal round action Saturday.

Hunt, finishing with three points in the tournament while scoring twice, was named player of the game for Team BC during the opening round win over Team Saskatchewan
