Bombers open season by capturing Osoyoos Rattler Cup

L.V. Rogers Bombers started the season running on all cylinders as the girl’s soccer squad captured the top prize at the recent Osoyoos Rattler Cup Tournament in the South Okanagan.
The Bombers scored impressive wins over Similkameen of Keremeos 8-1; Charles Bloom of Lumby 8-0 and a semi final victory over Surrey’s Guildford Park 12-0 before advancing to the final to face George Elliot of Lake Country.
Taya Short provided the heroics for the Bombers, scoring the game-winning goal in the 1-0 victory for LVR.
The Bombers team includes, Freya Keyserlingk, Fiona Rooney-Frederick, Lily Bennett, Ally Nicholson, Claire Christison, Brooke Chernenko, Nina Usher, Jacqueline Willard, Taya Short, Franny Bohigian-Myers, Paityn Lake, Ever King, Emma Wouters and Niyah Martineau.
The Bombers return to action April 25 in Kelowna at the KSS Invitational Tournament.
The Kootenay Zone playdowns are set for May 16th in Invermere.
