Caleb Morton was to quick, and to young for Ted Allen’s as the Bia Boro striker scored three times to lead the second-half surprise of the Men’s Over-35 League to a 4-1 victory in the Nelson City Soccer Final Sunday afternoon at the Lakeside Pitch.

The victory completed the rags to riches story for Bia Boro, which finished the Spring/Summer League with a dismal 2-7 record.

Morton gave Bia Boro, which used the same formula for success for the second straight week — scoring early and often then hold onto the lead— all the goals it would need, scoring the first three markers for the winners.

Rick Cutler added the other first half marker for Bia Boro while Brian Cutts replied to give Ted Allen’s some form of life.

In the second half it was the goalkeepers, and a little Lady Luck on the part of Bia Boro, that kept the score the same.

Ted Allen’s Cam Kuch and Al Faraguna each drilled shots off the iron as the Red Side tried desperately to get back in the game.

Jackson’s Hole, Spring/Summer winners, defeated Red Dog 5-1 to capture the Consolation final.
