Bombers surprise of the 2013 B.C. High School AA Girl's Soccer Championships, finish fourth overall

The L.V. Rogers Bombers finished just out of the medals, fourth, at the 2013 B.C. High School AA Girl’s Soccer Championships Saturday in Courtney.

The Bombers lost 4-0 to Nanaimo in the bronze medal contest.

LVR lost 3-1 in semi final play Friday to Burnsview of Delta to fall into the consolation final.

The tournament was won by Archbishop Carney of Coquiltam. The Fraser Valley squad defeated Burnsview 2-1 in the gold medal final.

The Bombers advanced to the final four of the 16-team tournament by capturing Pool B with a 2-1 record. LVR finished with six points, two points in front of Abbotsford Traditional and Ballenas from Vancouver Island.

Bombers drop consolation game to finish 14th at Rugby Tourney

Glenlyon Norfolk of Victoria defeated the L.V. Rogers Bombers 24-19 in consolation round action at the B.C. High School AA Boy’s Rugby Championships Saturday in Abbotsford.

The Bombers finished 14th in the 16-team AA Boy’s field.

LVR defeated D.W. Poppy of Langley 17-5 Thursday to advance to the 13-14-place game.

The Bombers opened the tourney Monday with a 45-0 loss at the hands of Rockridge of West Vancouver.

LVR then lost 29-12 to Vernon Secondary in consolation round action.
