Salmo is going all out for Canada 150 Celebrations.

A community beautification campaign includes celebratory banners along the highway, floral planters in the national colours, a brand new Canada flag pole installed at the Village office, a limited edition Canada 150 Salmo Lumberjack bottle, and an exciting itinerary for this year’s Salmo Days Celebrations.

The Canada Day Celebrations begins with the Parade at noon from the Salmo Pool to the Knights of Pythias Park followed by the Opening Ceremonies at 12:30 p.m. Mayor Stephen White will address the crowd before the singing of O’Canada and the raising of the Canadian flag.

There is an Outdoor Market as well as Bingo Booth, Firefighter Competitions, Bubble Gum Blowing Competition and a Watermelon Eating contest.

The day concludes with Fireworks Celebration.

Residents are encouraged to join in the community effort and festivities. Those interested in participating in the Canada Day parade should contact Gail at (250) 785-5310.

Limited Edition Canada 150 Salmo Lumberjack bottles are available at the Village office for $40.
