A Pete Seeger memorial concert, featuring local musicians Kenny Conrad, Olin McKay, Dan Perrault and many others, is set to kick off Saturday (January 31) at the Junction Church in the South Slocan.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the International Justice Mission (IJM), an organization devoted to fighting modern day slavery.

Tickets are $40 and are available in advance from Eddy Music in Nelson, Gaia Tree in Winlaw and the Biggest Little Fruitstand in Castlegar.

“All $40 of the ticket goes to help free people in bondage and slavery – you can make a difference,” said organizer Dean Seminoff.

“If you have been thinking of coming out, you have two days to get your tickets.”

Seminoff added: “If you cannot make it for some reason, you can still donate – but a ticket and give it to a friend or neighbour.”
