Nelson Fire Rescue, with the help of Western Auto Wreckers, recently held auto extrication training at the Selkirk College facility in Rosemont.

Assistant Chieft and Training Officer for Nelson Fire Rescue, Mike Daloise, said the assistance from Western Auto donate and delivery of four vehicles was important to the continuing of this type of training for firefighters.

“This training is imperative to our members to enhance and retain our skills in auto extrication,” Daloise explained, adding when Western was asked to assist,  without hesitation Cory Scanlon said “what do you require”.

“The vehicles will remain on site for further training dates to be conducted this fall.” Daloise added.

“A big thank you to Western for this donation.”

The auto extrication practice was conducted on July 20 for members of the department.
