Here is an account of last year’s Kootenay Spirit Festival from one of the participants, Shayla Wright.

“The part of the Kootenay Spirit Festival that I was able to participate in made me feel that it is one of the brightest, most beautiful events I’ve ever seen in the Kootenays. Congratulations to you and everyone else who helped to create it,”  Wright explained.

“I see it becoming something quite large, to which people travel each year from all over. The energy, and the connections that were happening were quite remarkable,” she added.

It was one of those days when I felt very proud to be part of this community. with love and gratitude.”

Events are hosted iin various studios, venues and parks of Nelson’s beautiful lakeside- mountain town, where you are encouraged to walk and cycle between events and enjoy the vibrant downtown and beautiful mountain scape.
