It’s back! Step back in time on July 23 & 24 and experience life as it was in the Middle Ages.

This year promises to be bigger and better, according to the Nakusp Medieval Society’s President and Event Co-ordinator, Daniel Abraham.

“The first Nakusp Medieval Days event in 2015 was an event that brought hundreds of new faces to the town, from all over western North America,’ said Abraham.

“After last year, we analyzed feedback and have built an event that will be bigger and better in every way. We are thrilled to have provided local jobs, offered educational content, and contributed to the regional economy.

“With the additions planned for the 2016 event, we are confident that our guests will come away with an even more unique and entertaining medieval experience. We have jousting! How cool is that!”

The main feature of the event this year is the live jousting, which promises to be an exciting and interesting addition to this year’s festivities. There is also a tug-of-war contest, and a giant chess board to challenge the intellect. A children’s play tent of activities will engage the young ones.

As well as Medieval re-enactment by the Naksup Medieval Society and the visiting Society for Creative Anachronism participants, the ambiance will be also be set by a flute-player, a French Canadian musical group and a roaming piper.

There will be vendors of medieval and modern wares as well as food that would typically be offered during Medieval times and as well as modern fare.

Interested in being a volunteer and a part of the activity and excitement? Contact the Naksup Medieval Days office in person at Old Fire Hall, 90 Fifth Avenue, by phone at (250) 265-3209, or through the website www.medivaldays.ca.
