It is with deep sadness that the family of Donald Edward Benedetti announce his sudden and unexpected passing on Thursday October 25, 2018 at Jubilee Manor, Nelson.

Don was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Marie Benedetti and his brothers, Syl and Steve.

Don is survived by his wife, Nina, his son Dale (Marlys) of Creston and daughter, Brenda of Vancouver. Also survived by his brother, Ray of West Kelowna, sister-in-law’s, Ola Cassan of Kelowna and Barb Benedetti of Nelson. He also has many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who will miss Uncle Don.

Don was born in Wyndell, BC and spent his childhood in Trail before moving to Nelson as a teenager. He was married to the love of his life, Nina, for 71 years. Together they had many adventures and travelled to the USA, Mexico, Europe, and many places in Canada. He loved their cabin on Kootenay Lake. Don lived a very full life. He was an avid curler, hunter, fisherman and loving husband and father.

Thank you to the staff at Kootenay Lake Hospital and to the kind and dedicated staff at Jubilee Manor, and a special thank you to Phil Osachoff for his considerate and loving care.

The family is very thankful and appreciative of the cards, flowers, visits, phone calls and food received.

No service by request. Don’s family will say goodbye and celebrate his life at a private gathering in the summer of 2019.
