Charlwood landslide winner in Nelson By-Election

In a landslide result, Nicole Charlwood won the vacant seat on Nelson City Council in a By-Election Saturday.

Charlwood won the election by more than 750 votes over Brenton Raby. 

Preliminary voting results released by the City of Nelson had Charlwood winning the vacated council seat with 1038 votes to 287 for Raby.

The By-Election was held after former councillor Brittny Anderson won the Nelson-Creston riding for the NDP in the October 2020 Provincial Election. 

Josh Wapp finished third with 64 votes.

Charlwood now joins Keith Page, Jesse Woodward, Rik Logtenburg, Cal Renwick, Janice Morrison and Nelson Mayor John Dooley on City Council.
