The West Kootenay Chapter of the ALS is tossing out the welcome mat for people to join in on the Peoples Drug Mart Walk for ALS in Nelson Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Lakeside Rotary Park.

The day begins with registration at 11:30 a.m. before the gun sounds for the walk.

Organizers have also planned for entertaining speakers, prizes, tasty treats and the satisfying feeling that will come from supporting a community event dedicated to finding a cure for ALS.

“It promises to be a fun event, so please mark this Sunday (June 2) on your calendar and bring a friend,” said Gord Shannon, West Kootenay Walk for ALS Coordinator and ALS patient.

“I look forward to seeing you there.”

For more information please contact Gord Shannon at (cell) 250-354-8585 or (home) 250-352-5989 or on the web at westkootenaywalk@alsbc.ca
