Health care is all about recovery, and this spring the Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation is asking for  help to purchase two new Patient Monitors for the Recovery Room.

These monitors assess the patient’s vital signs including blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation.  They will also allow the medical staff to assess carbon dioxide levels, which gives an overall picture of the patient’s respiratory status.

The new monitors will be used by every patient who comes through the Operating Room.

Technology in health care changes at a rapid pace and these monitors will greatly benefit the nurses in the Recovery Room and the patients in our community.

The Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation says thanks for the support.

Any funds raised in excess of our goal will be directed to the purchase of other priority medical equipment for Kootenay Lake Hospital.
