Nelson exploded for three second-period goals en route to a 4-1 victory over the Spokane Braves in Kootenay International Junior Hockey League action Wednesday night at the NDCC Arena.

The victory, the third in fourth attempts, pulls the Leafs (3-5) into a third-place tie with the Braves in Neil Murdoch standings.
