Suzy Hamilton passed away peacefully at her home in Nelson BC the morning of September 11, 2016.
She was 69.
Suzy will be remembered in the community for her leadership on environmental and social causes and her generosity of spirit. Among her many accomplishments,
Suzy was a founding member of the West Kootenay Ecosociety and longtime host of the Ecocentric radio show, founded Kootenay Barter, led the revitalization of the Kokanee Park Visitor Centre, started the Nelson Garden Festival, and won legal fights to protect local wildlife habitat.
Suzy is survived by her husband Earl and children Jesse and Finn.
A memorial to remember her life and work will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 9 at the Kokanee Creek Park Visitor Centre.
