Rina Bragagnolo

1925-2016

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rina  Bragagnolo (DeLucrezio) on Tuesday April 26th 2016. Rina died peacefully surrounded by many of her children, grandchildren and great grand children.

Rina was born in Kimberley BC on June 20th 1925 the eldest daughter of Fortunato and Marghuerita DeLucrezio. She spent her childhood in Nelson attending St Joseph’s School where she met Silvio.

Rina married Silvio on August 1st, 1945 and together they raised six children.

Rina was an active member of her community. Besides her love of swimming and bowling she was a member of the CWL, the Italian Ladies Club and an honorary lifetime member of the KLH Hospital Auxiliary. Rina was a wonderful baker and enjoyed contributing to many occasions throughout the community.

Rina’s passions were her family, knitting,baking, her rose garden and the many trips to Italy to visit her relatives.

Rina was predeceased by her husband Silvio and son Martin.

She is survived by her children Michael(Becky), Maureen (Gregg), Maryana (John), Mark (Wendy) and Marcia (Andy). She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, her sister Jena as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Rina was a wonderful caring, compassionate and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great grandmother and friend who taught us that family was most important. She was the center of our family and will be deeply missed.

The family would like to thank Dr McKechnie and the nursing staff on the third floor at KLH for their care and compassion.
