Work continues on Stores to Shores Downtown Revitalization project

Work on the City of Nelson’s Stores to Shores Downtown Revitalization is well under way, with crews making terrific progress on either end of the thoroughfare last week.
This week, Maglio Installations is replacing the 75-year-old water main that runs down the hill through IODE Park.
The asphalt along the 300 and 400 blocks, from the park to the corner of Hall and Vernon, is being ground off, and the two blocks of Hall will be closed for the work intermittently throughout the week.
At the other end of the road, CGL Contracting has completed work on the Hall Street hill, lowering underground infrastructure to accommodate the grading of the intersection itself, a move that will improve sight lines and make the crossing safer for pedestrian and motor traffic.
