The Banff RCMP got their man, thanks to BC Mounties.

RCMP officers in Revelstoke, Sicamous and Southeast District Traffic Services were able to safely apprehend a driver of a vehicle after the man failed to stop for RCMP in the Banff area.

The apprehension happened at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday after it was reported a motorist fled a traffic stop in the Banff area earlier in the day.

Salmon Arm RCMP subsequently took the 57-year-old male from Saskatchewan into custody with the help of the Police Dog Service unit after the man ditched his vehicle on a logging road near Canoe, east of Salmon Arm.

The male driver remains in custody while police continue the investigation into the reasons as to why the man caused a multi jurisdictional pursuit.
