There only a few days remaining to get those tickets for the Nelson CARES Society second benefit concert for the Room to Live campaign Friday (November 20) at the Capitol Theatre.

It’s an evening of music that brings the community together to help support affordable housing in Nelson.

Featuring the vocal talents of Six Kootenay Divas — Bo Conlan, Aryn Sheriff, Bessie Wapp, Sydney Galbraith Black, Laura Landsberg and Melody Diachun with Clinton Swanson and his 6-piece band!

“This benefit concert for Ward Street Place not only raised some good money for a great organization last year, it received standing ovations for the calibre and quality of the musicianship,” shared Clinton Swanson, Musician.

“It was such a success last year it will prove so again this year.”

Last year’s show sold out and tickets are already selling quickly for this year’s performance. All proceeds from the concert and auction go to the Room to Live Campaign.

“The night is bound to be energetic and fun! We also have an on-line auction with 100 donated items from local artists and merchants for people to bid on,” said Lisa McGeady, Room To Live Campaign Coordinator.

The on-line auction can be found at https://www.32auctions.com/roomtolive2015and will conclude live at the benefit concert.

“An added bonus for this year’s event is the fact that a generous Anonymous Donor has offered to match donations up to a total of $50,000.  That includes funds raised from the silent auction and benefit concert. Another great reason to donate to this campaign now, as your donation will go twice as far,” confirmed McGeady.

Those people unable to make it to the benefit concert have the option from now until the end of February 2016 to double their donation to the Nelson CARES’ Room to Live campaign, thanks to the arranged matching fund from the Anonymous Donor.

Advanced tickets are $20 or $25 at the door and are available at the Capitol Theatre Box Office www.capitoltheatre.bc.caor at Urban Legends.

Doors open at 6:30, performance at 7:30pm.

Donations can also be made in person at Nelson CARES Society.

Ward Street Place (567 Ward Street) is a 102-year-old building and is one of the only low income housing blocks in the region.  It is home to people living in poverty and those who have escaped homelessness.

NCARES receives no public funding to operate the building and it serves the region’s most vulnerable citizens.
