RCMP seek witnesses to theft of batteries from Nakusp worksite

In a media release Thursday, RCMP said police are investigating a theft of industrial batteries from the Nakusp Pole Yard which is situated in the 100-block of Highway 6 East Nakusp.

RCMP said the theft is believed to have occurred on (Saturday) May 30, 2020 at approximately 12:45 a.m.

Police said it is believed that a dolly or other similar device may have been used to remove the batteries from the work site to the highway nearby.

“At this time the Nakusp RCMP is seeking information from anyone who may have been in the area at the time and observed two individuals walking along the highway near the pole yard wearing head lamps,” the RCMP release said.

“Nakusp RCMP would like to remind the public to report any suspicious activity while it’s occurring in effort to prevent crimes in progress and increase the RCMP’s chances of locating or identifying suspects,” said RCMP Cpl. Jamie Moffat.
