Premier Clark issues statement regarding wildfire situation in West Kelowna

Premier Christy Clark issued the following statement regarding the wildfire evacuation order issued in West Kelowna:
“My thoughts and prayers are with people in the Smith Creek area who are impacted by today’s evacuation order.
“I know that first responders are working hard to first protect people’s safety as well as their property.
“Our community is strong and will come together to ensure our friends and neighbours have the support they need in this difficult time.
“I am monitoring the situation closely and will be heading to the area as soon as I can.
“This is a difficult time for many families across the province. My heart goes out to everyone who is impacted by wildfire evacuations across the province.
“Finally, I want to thank everyone around British Columbia for doing their part to help their friends and neighbours in need.”
