Nelson residents reminded to secure garbage after NPD receives bear complaint

Bears, and not the Chicago Bears, are back.
Tuesday night (April 28) at 10:41 p.m., Nelson Police received a call in the West Richards area of Rosemont of a bear breaking into a residential garbage can holder.
As bears are now looking for food, Nelson Police would like to remind the public to ensure that garbage, compost and waste products are disposed of in a secure manner to avoid any possible confrontations with wildlife.

Too much to drink Monday afternoon
Sunday afternoon, Nelson Police were contacted about an intoxicated male creating a disturbance in the 600 Block of Highway 3A.
The report, at 4:20 p.m., said the man was yelling, swearing, and exposing himself to traffic.
Officers located the male and took him into custody. He was later released after sobering up in the NPD lock up.
The male was released on conditions and police are recommending charges of Causing a Disturbance.
Man faces charge of Breach of Undertaking
Wednesday morning at 10:55 a.m., Nelson Police were called to the 100 Block of Silca Street to deal with another intoxicated male.
The man, who had too much to drink, was yelling and swearing at people in the area.
The man was taken into custody and found to be breaching conditions of his release.
The male was remanded into custody for court and is facing one charge of Breach of Undertaking.
