The Kootenay Pride Festival is an annual celebration of diversity and unity held in the cities of Nelson and Castlegar on the Labour Day Long Weekend.

The festival aims to build bridges between people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. We came together in 1996 to celebrate diversity, be it sexual, political or otherwise.

Now in our 22th year, the festival is spreading the love to the entire Kootenay region.

There are events happening all weekend culminating with Sunday’s Kootenay Pride Parade through the downtown core of Nelson.

Parade departs from Central School at 3 p.m. to weave its way through Baker Street.

Kootenay Pridehope to see you there.
