Selkirk College Students Organize Halloween Food Drive
Representatives of the Selkirk College Students’ Union will be leading a Trick or Treat food drive collecting food items in place of candy this Halloween a media release said.
Students will go door-to-door in the community asking for donations to the Selkirk College student food banks.
“Students have been depending on the food bank significantly more due to the ever increasing cost of tuition and high cost of living”, said Jelayna Murdoch, Director-at-Large for the Selkirk College Students’ Union.
“We are doing our part to help students but we really need to see the government step up and do their part too.”
The Selkirk College Students’ Union, Local 2 of the British Columbia Federation of Students, represents over 2,000 students at Selkirk College.
