Everyone realizes the success and notoriety of the Nelson Road Kings Queen City Cruise.

Now the event is starting to appear in magazine publications.

The Canadian Chevelle Beaumont News recently featured an article by writer Jim Morrison featuring the 2018 edition of the Queen City Cruise.

“What a weekend in sunny Nelson, south eastern BC,” Morrison wrote.“On Friday, more than 100 classic vehicles joined in a slow and steady parade through town.”

“Then on Saturday,” Morrison added, “there were six Beaumonts, thirteen Chevelles, Five Caminos and a fine GMC Caballero in a field of 351 vehicles parked on Baker St. and extending into the adjacent side streets.”

The car publication, which featured local Road Kings executive member Jack Chambers with his 66 Beaumont, was established in March of 1995. Its sole purpose is to promote the preservation, restoration and modification of Chevelles, Beaumonts and man GMC derivatives of the El Camino.

The Queen City Cruise, a staple for Nelson for the past 16 years, attracts car buffs from throughout Western Canada and the northwest United States.

Almost 400 entrants flock to the Heritage City to participate in the annual event sponsored by the Nelson Road Kings Car Club.

“There’s something for everybody . . . entertainment, fancy cars and trucks and stuff that appeals to everybody,” said Road Kings executive member Frank Anderson.

Magazine publications can now be added to the event.
