The 9:30 show sold out quickly so they’ve agreed to play a second show on the same night at 7pm.

John Mayall is a pioneering English blues singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. His musical career spans over fifty years but the most notable episode in it occurred during the late ’60s.

He was the founder of John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers and has been influential in the careers of many instrumentalists, including Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, Peter Green, John McVie, Mick Fleetwood, Mick Taylor, Don “Sugarcane” Harris, Harvey Mandel, Larry Taylor, Aynsley Dunbar, Hughie Flint, Jon Hiseman, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Andy Fraser, Johnny Almond, Jon Mark, Walter Trout, Coco Montoya, and Buddy Whittington.

As for the man himself, the father of six and the grandfather of six, John Mayall, at 75, hopes to keep the blues alive for many more years to come.

Don’t miss your opportunity to see John in an incredibly intimate venue, while he tours between some of the biggest Blues festivals in North America.

Lazy Poker Blues Band

Friday, August 5 – Showtime 9:30 pm

  • Tickets $10 at the door

It’s the blues and then some. Nelson’s own Lazy Poker Blues Band is set to lay down their unique twist of blues and funk at the Royal.

Lazy Poker Blues Band was created 15 years ago as the dream child of Bill Lynch (lead guitar). Since then many faces have graced the Lazy Poker stage, but Bill is still going strong, as well as Steve Wilson (drummer) and Merik Hladvik (harmonica).

We have added to our mix some talented newcomers, such as Rob on bass guitar, Jack Olson on the Keyboards and of course who could forget Aryn Sheriff on lead vocals.

Part Blues part funk and always original in their interpretations of the classics, Lazy Poker is an upbeat fun mixture of style and individuality.

Royal Blues Jam

Sunday, August 7 – 4-8 pm

The Royal Blues Jam is a weekly afternoon of Blues featuring Nelson’s blues players as hosted by Craig Atkins.

Drinks, food, and the Blues … sounds like a fantastic Sunday afternoon.
