Nelson teams advance to BC Hockey Championship Playoff Round

Nelson Minor Hockey teams booked tickets into the playoff round after capturing their respective divisions at the Tier 3 U13 and U15 BC Hockey Championships in Revelstoke and Quesnel.

The Nelson U13s advance to meet Elk Valley today after defeating host Revelstoke 6-2 in the final round robin game Tuesday.

Nelson won Pool B with a 3-0 record.

Revelstoke plays Pool A winner Kitimat in the other playoff semi final.

Both games are slated for Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, in Quesnel, Nelson U15s registered a pair of victories Tuesday to capture Pool B with a 4-0 record.

Nelson, defeating Terrace 13-2 and Kelowna 6-4, now face Powell River in one semi final Wednesday morning.

Host Quesnel meets New Westminster in the other semi final.

Semi-final winners advance to the Gold Medal Game at 8 p.m.

The losing teams meet for the Bronze Medal earlier in the day.

Nelson Rep teams undefeated at BC Hockey Championships

The Nelson Minor Hockey U15s are off to a 2-0 start at the BC Hockey Tier 3 Championships in Quesnel.

The West Kootenay Champs, advancing to the Provincial Tournament after defeating Trail in Zone Playdowns, defeated Sunshine Coast 5-1 Monday on Day 2 of the Provincial Tournament.

Nelson U15 opened the tournament Sunday by thumping host Quesnel 8-2.

Nelson U15 has been led by the six-goal performance of forward River Marshall. Kevin Gaynor has four goals and Hudson Vanlerberg has two markers for the West Kootenay Reps.

Tanner Ross has backstopped Nelson U15 in goal to register both victories.

Nelson U15, tops in Pool B standings, face a two-game schedule Tuesday.

Nelson faces Terrace at 9:45 a.m. before completing the round-robin draw at 5 p.m. against Kelowna Minor Hockey.

The top teams in each of the five-team divisions advance to the Gold Medal Game Wednesday.

New Westminster and Powell River are tied for top spot in Pool A.

Nelson undefeated in two games at U13s in Revelstoke

The Nelson Minor Hockey U13s sit at 2-0 after two days of play at the BC Hockey Tier 4 Championships in Revelstoke.

Nelson opened the eight-team tournament by outlasting 100 Mile House 9-8 Sunday.

Nelson continued to flex its offence Monday by blasting Cowichan Valley 12-3.

The West Kootenay Reps now face host Revelstoke, also 2-0 after two-days of action, this afternoon in a Pool B showdown.

The winner advances to the Gold Medal Game Wednesday.

The Nelson U13s advancd to the playoff round at the eight-team BC Hockey Tier 4 Championships in Revelstoke.
