The Nelson and District Arts Council has proudly hosted events that have become instrumental in supporting local artists for over five creative decades. Our flagship event, ArtWalk 2020 is currently in the early stages of preparation and the Arts Council’s priority is to keep our community of arts-lovers and artists healthy and safe.

The Arts Council is working hard to be proactive during the COVID-19 health care crisis. We have been meeting with municipal and provincial government officials to ensure that we are up to date on the situation and making the most informed decisions.

“We plan to continue to support our community of artists and creatives going forward, whatever that may look like,” spokesperson said.

“As it stands now, ArtWalk 2020 will continue, but the situation is changing rapidly so there may be changes as we move forward. The Arts Council is looking at numerous different options including digital galleries and live stream openings.”
