Another blast of winter headed to West Kootenay, Boundary

Environment Canada is a calling for another blast of winter to hit the southern interior, starting early Thursday.

Environment Canada said another storm will bring 15 to 30 cm of snow to Highway 3 – Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass and the TransCanada Highway – Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass by Thursday evening.

“Snow will begin this evening as the storm system moves onshore, and intensify Thursday as it tracks across the interior,” Environment Canada said.

Drivers are advised to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions as visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions. reminds drivers to know before you go. Adjust to winter driving behaviour and use winter tires and chains.
