Waterways: A forum on water governance

Working together is a common theme of an upcoming Water Forum being hosted by the Columbia Basin Watershed Network (CBWN).
Water Ways: A CBWN Forum on Water Govenance is being held in Nelson on April 14 and 15, 2011. Click on the link for the agenda.
“Our approach to water governance and this forum is one of collaboration,” said CBWN steering committee member Lee-Anne Walker. “We encourage working together and recognize the benefits of building relationships and partnerships.”
The forum will appeal to a broad audience including local watershed groups, government representatives and residents with an interest in water issues.
The Water Forum will introduce participants to the basics of water governance learning what it is, why it is important, who the stakeholders are and how to participate. It will showcase successes both in the Columbia Basin and elsewhere.
Participants will also have an opportunity to discuss and learn about some tools and techniques to make participation in watershed decision-making more effective.

The Columbia Basin Watershed Network is one several water stewardship projects funded and delivered by CBT. In addition to water stewardship, CBT is delivering work related to water quality, quantity, governance, and trans-boundary water issues.
