West Kelowna ski hill will not open for upcoming season

Regardless of weather winter arrives with or without an abundance of snow, skiers who frequent Crystal Mountain Ski Resort in West Kelowna will not enjoy any skiiing.

The resort announced Saturday morning on Facebook operations will not happen for the 2014/15 season.

“Thank you all for patiently waiting for an update from us. I’m sad to announce that the mountain will not be in operation for the upcoming 2014-2015 winter season,” the Facebook post read.

Last season Crystal Mountain was hampered when skiing was cut short after a chair lift collapsed.

The accident injured several people.

The Facebook post went onto say:

“But this is not a goodbye, we plan to be open for the 2015-2016 season. Season pass holders will receive their refund as promised. For questions, please message our Facebook page.

Crystal Mountain 25 minutes west from downtown Kelowna.
