Nelson received 100 percent of forecasted rain from a thunderstorm Monday afternoon.

Afternoon shoppers witnessed the downpour that was once again too much to handle for catchbasins at the corner of Ward and Baker Streets.

City crews needed to be called to unclog the drains so the puddles that formed from the rain could flow into the storm drains.

Forecast for today is the chance of a thunderstorm with a 60 percent chance of rain into the night.

Tuesday, Enviromment Canada calls for 70 percent chance of showers by noon and a risk of a thunderstorm in the afternoon.

The blistering summer has cooled off, with temperatures calling for in the mid 20s C for most of the week.
