Music and Nature in Harmony at Cedar Hall in Nelson

Director and Cellist, Jeff Faragher is enthusiastically bringing in the second season for Mountainside Chamber Music summer programs for adult (16+) players of cello, violin, viola, and double bass. 

Attend CELLO FOCUS (July 8-10) and hone your cello skills during this three-day intensive workshop focusing on cello technique with daily workshops, master classes, technique clinics, private instruction, & ensemble playing. 

Faragher is pleased to announce that this year, he will be joined by the highly sought after and distinguished cellist and faculty member at the Vancouver Academy of Music ~ Judy Fraser. 

Together, Faragher and Fraser will guide the students through an enjoyable and enriching cello journey.  All cello players (16+) with a minimum of 1 year experience are invited to attend.  Sessions will be arranged according to levels of experience.  

ADULT CHAMBER STRINGS (July 13-17) is a 5 day program for intermediate to advanced adult string players. 

Groups will be formed (and music will be distributed) in advance of arrival to accommodate skill level.  Students will be involved in small ensembles (Trios and Quartets) as well as a String Orchestra with daily rehearsals and coaching. 

Master Classes, Clinics and private instruction are offered during the week by guest clinicians and instructors to create a full and enriching musical experience. Get inspired with the evening performances by Cellist Jeff Faragher with guest clinicians. 

Faculty includes Cellist, Faragher and violinist, Jeff Plotnick from Calgary will be returning for the second season due to popular demand!  Guest Clinicians this year are Fraser (strings master class), Amy Zanrosso (collaborating with other musicians), and Bessie Wapp (working with performance).  

The Clinics (by audit) and all performances are open to the public by donation.  Experience “Music and Nature in Harmony” during the programs at Cedar Hall  — Overtone Studios and take time to explore the refreshing Kootenay Lake with its surrounding mountain terrain and enjoy the culture and cuisine in Nelson and surrounding areas.
