Marjorie Dahms (Violet)
Marjorie Violet (Kirby) Dahms It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marjorie “Violet” Dahms at Mountain Lakes Seniors Community on September 18th, 2010 at the age of 89 years. Violet was born in Vancouver, BC to George and Marjorie Kirby. In her teens Violet and her family moved to Sandspit on the Queen Charlotte Islands. It was here that she developed her love for the Islands, met and married her husband of 54 years, Vern, and had her two children, Keith and Joyce. The family later moved to Kitimat where Violet enjoyed being a stay at home mom for her kids and a great many of their friends. Violet and Vern retired to Vernon, BC in 1979. Family and friends were a priority over everything else for Violet. She was an amazing mother, Nana and friend. In 2009 Violet moved to Nelson to be closer to her daughter and grandsons. Violet leaves to mourn her daughter Joyce (Mark) Whiffen and her two grandsons Dylan and Noah of Nelson: her granddaughter Amber Middleton of Kitimat: her sister Lillian Crozier of Victoria, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Violet was predeceased by her husband Vern, her son Keith and siblings Gladys and David. Those wishing to do so, may make a donation to the charity of their choosing in Violet’s memory. A family memorial will be held at a later date on the Queen Charlotte Islands. Private cremation arrangements are in the care of the Thompson Funeral Service.
