Nelson Figure Skaters rock at Regional Championships

Nelson skaters won a few medals during the Kootenay Region Figure Skating Championships held recently in Creston. 

Nelson Figure Skaters captured a handlful of medals.

Aili Brackett (25.50 points) and Milo Jarvis (19.16 points) paced the Heritage City club, winning gold in juvenile women and men, respectively.

Jen McNutt (30.95 points) also won a gold medal adult gold freeskate.

Brackett (17.08 points) also won silver in Star 7 while Jarvis (15.47 points) claim second spot in Star 5 artistic.

Taylor Singer (17.62 points) won a bronze medal Star 9 with Tiia Brackett claiming bronze medal Star 8/9 dance

  • Vienna Ferguson- 6th place Star 4U13
  • Paige Vince- 11.25 points, 9th star 5 O13
  • Paisley Jarvis- 12.55 points, 8th Star 6
  • Paisley Jarvis- 11.54 points, 6th star 5 artistic
  • Rebekah Profili- 8.71 points, 8th star 5 artistic
  • Sara Hurd- 15.31 points, 11th star 7 artistic
  • Tiia Brackett- 25.89 points, 7th star 9 artistic
  • Paige Vince- 24.31 points, 9th star 9 artistic
  • Sara Hurd- 4th star 6/7 dance

Vienna Ferguson finished third in star 4 elements while Rebekah Profili finished third in star 4/5 dance and Vienna Ferguson second in star 4/5 dance.

Three skaters were named to the Kootenay team to represent the zone in the SuperSeries Final in Kelowna in March.

There are only 10 skaters selected based on their performances this year.

Nelson skates include Kailee Stewart, Aili Brackett and Milo Jarvis.
