Bomber Senior Girls rally past Stanley Humphries in High School Hoops

The L.V. Rogers Bombers outscored Stanley Humphries 20-11 in the third quarter before holding on for a 53-58 victory in West Kootenay High School Girls Basketball action Thursday at the Hangar.

Taya Short clinched the victory with a three-point basket in the final minute of play for LVR.

The scored was tied at halftime at 22-22 before the Bombers pressure defence turned into turnovers and easy fast-break points for the home team after recess.

LVR led 42-35 after three quarters of play.

Liza Korinth led the Bombers in scoring with 14 points with Kelsey Palazzo and Short adding 13 and 12 points, respectively. Halle Martin and Dawn Cooke each scored six points for LVR.

The win evens the Bombers record at 2-2 to start the season.
