It was the Naomi Perkins show at the 2016 BC High School AA Girl’s Soccer Championships Friday in Campbell River.

The Bomber striker scored five times to power L.V. Rogers past Okanagan Mission of Kelowna 6-1 in semi final action.

The win gives LVR a spot in the tournament final Saturday against St. Thomas Moore of Vancouver.

The Lower Mainland squad needed overtime and shootout to edge St. Michael’s University of Vancouver Island 1-0.

The game was over minutes into the contest as Perkins went to work, scoring twice in the opening eight minutes to give the Bombers the early 2-0 advantage.

Perkins scored two more times before Darion Voisard added a single to give the Bombers a commanding 5-0 lead.

Okanagan Mission got one back before half. But Perkins connected for the fifth time in the game in the second half to secure the win and a berth in the final for the Kootenay Reps.

LVR won the Pool D of the tournament by edging Seycove of North Vancouver Friday morning in round robin play.

Maddie Sternloff, Taylor Zimmer and McKenna Bennett scored for the Bombers.

Keeper Hanna Quinn was once again solid between the pipes for the Bombers.

The Bombers opened the tournament Thursday by stopping Burnsview of Delta 3-1 win over Burnsview of Delta.

The only blemish during the tournament for LVR came in a contest against Ladysmith.

The Island squad rallied from a 3-1 deficit late in the game to draw LVR 3-3.
Perkins, Voisard and Laurel Halleran scored for LVR, which advanced to the 16-team tournament by winning the Kootenay Zone.

The Bombers have a chance to make it two straight Provincial titles after the LVR Rugby team captured the 2016 BC High School Boy’s AA Tier II Rugby Championship with a thrilling 13-12 victory over Fraser Valley power Robert Bateman Timberwolves Saturday at Rotary Park in Abbotsford.
