The Nelson Public Library’s Winlaw Outreach Program is about to take a summer break.

However before the program trades books for sand, its slated to final Winlaw Library Day Thursday,(June 21) from 3—7 p.m.

The program has been a tremendous success as readers in the valley have come out to borrow library items and find out about databases, audio and e-book download opportunities, and other online resources, as well as library programming in Nelson.

Strong Start families visited and held storytimes during these monthly sessions, and some lively discussions have ensued about the One Book, One Kootenay reader’s choice program, as well as other must-read books.

The last Winlaw Day until fall will be marked with a draw for local gift certificates for Cedar Creek Café and Jennie’s Garden, and a meeting at 6:30 pm for anyone who has feedback to provide about the service and ideas for making it better or reaching more people.

Winlaw Outreach Program would like to hear from teens, Parent Advisory Councils, seniors, and families to make sure we’re providing the best possible service with the available resources.

Bring your opinions and your ideas to share with us.

Anyone living in the valley is welcome to attend the meeting.

Refreshments will be served. Of course, there will be a new selection of library items to check out as well.

The Heritage Credit Union pick-up and drop-off service continues through the summer.

Anyone requiring more information may call the library at 352-6333.
