Environmentally aware, adventure minded and packed with breathtaking views of nature; Kootenay Kalendars is a company that lives up its culture conscious name.

The Kootenay’s newest publishing company has released their second local interest calendar — Off the Beaten Path — that tantalizes locals with 14 of the most spectacular backcountry adventure spots.

With one per cent of their annual sales dedicated towards environmental non-profit groups, the company started by Nelson locals Lucas Jmieff and Ginia Hayward strives to protect the environment, and promote sustainability along with backcountry use.

“Be it hiking in the Purcell Mountains, touring the Selkirk Mountain backcountry or skimming the ridges of the Valhalla Mountains, Off the Beaten Path delivers what the title suggests: Kootenay style,” said Jmieff.

Off the Beaten Path is available in Nelson at Valhalla Pure, ROAM, Ellison’s Market, Coles Books and Touchstones Gallery.

Also available in Rossland at Café Books and Rouge Gallery; Trail at Crockett Books; Castlegar at Bagels and Brew and The Kootenay Gallery; Crescent Valley at Evergreen Natural Foods.
