Tittemore, Robert Wade

(January 9th, 2023)

Robert Wade Tittemore was born on March 19, 1979 in Calgary AB, and on January 9, 2023 the earth bid farewell to his light when he passed away while skiing near Kaslo, BC.

Wade was a bright  to so many who met him. His dry bizarre humour was often met with looks of confusion which caused him to ponder, “if a joke is told, and nobody laughs, is it funny?,,,,,, yes, it is even funnier”. Growing up in Calgary with his rowdy siblings Nicole and Warren, gave him a young start with pranks on their Dad Bob, which continued into his adult life both at home and at work. And many a times people would break out laughing hours later, after figuring out his off-the-cuff jokes.

Wade became a police officer with the Calgary Police Service in 2007 where he served for eleven years before joining the Nelson Police Department in 2018. In Nelson he found a supportive community to raise his family and also gained a new family within the NPD. When he was not working, he could be found with his wife and two boys enjoying skiing, riding the trails, or relaxing at home teaching the kid’s guitar and opening their world to new music. Wade was a lover of exceptionally fiery hot sauces and would wow the kids with his feats of gastrointestinal fortitude by consuming wildly inappropriate amounts of the stuff on most breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. He had a love of finding new hobbies which included years of beer brewing, building bikes, making yogurt, vermicomposting, and one ill-fated batch of wine.

During his 43 years of life Wade touched many souls with his kindness and compassion. He taught us to laugh at ourselves and be truly happy with the lives we create. He gave thanks every day for the family and friends he had, and he will be held in all of our hearts.

Wade is survived by his wife Cheryl Lowe, amazing children Seth and Devin, his father Robert Tittemore, his mother Yvonne Sayn, his sister Nicole Tittemore-White (Ryan White) and niece and nephew Ferris and Arvydas. Wade was pre-deceased by his brother Warren Tittemore.
