Ruth Anne Gough (Fiona McLaren)
Ruth Anne Gough known to many as Fiona McLaren passed away peacefully at Kootenay Lake Hospital on April, 10th, 2012. She was not alone at her parting as her beloved friend; Wendy Scott was by her side. During the final year of her illness Fiona had many visits from friends and family. Ruth was born on December 4th, 1941 in Strathroy, Ontario to Harold and Doris Gough.
Ruth is predeceased by both of her parents.
Those who will carry on her memory are sister, Mary Beth (Peter) Davies, brothers Bernard (Lynne) Gough, John (Enid) Gough and Ted (Jiggs) Gough. Nieces Michele McKinnie (Montana), Randah McKinnie (Ontario), Amy Ruth Gough Farnworth (New Brunswick), Dalia Gough (Ontario), nephews Mike Gough (Ontario) and Mark Ellis Gough (Ontario). Also left behind are many cousins who will always have their childhood memories of Ruth (Fiona) and all of her loving friends in Riondel and Crawford Bay.
A celebration of Fiona’s life will be held on Saturday, April 21st, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Riondel Community Church, 1508 Eastman, Riondel with Pastor Bill Gooding presiding. Cremation has taken place at the Nelson Crematorium in Nelson, BC. Floral donations to the church are much appreciated as Fiona loved flowers.
