Ruel, Chantal

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Chantal Ruel on Tuesday, July 9, 2019. Chantal was born in Montreal, Quebec, in 1954 to loving parents Rose and Marcel. The youngest of four sisters, she had loved and happy childhood in her native province. She moved to Toronto in the 1980’s to pursue adventure and learn a new language. There, she met her husband to be Douglas Clayton. Together, they raised two children. Eventually, they found their way to Nelson where they spent the last 13 years creating a beautiful home and garden.
Chantal will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Douglas, her children Geneviève (Richard) and Nicholas, her sisters Diane (deceased), Lise (Michel, deceased) and Ginette (Marius, deceased), her brother in-law Robert (Marianne), sister in-law Kathleen (Raymond) and many other relatives and friends including her colleagues at Safeway.
The family invites those who would like to join us, a celebration of life ceremony will be held at Thompson Funeral Service Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 1 p.m.
