Richichi, Aldo

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend Aldo Richichi.
Our heart is broken but we know Aldo is now in peace after such a courageous battle.
Aldo was born October 21, 1931, in Cosenza, Italy. He was the oldest brother of eight children, five brothers and two sisters.
He married Margaret (Ross) in 1957. They remained in Nelson, and were married for 59 years.
Aldo worked for C.P.R. in his early adult life, as well as Kootenay Forest Products. He ended his long working career with the School District.
Aldo was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Italian Canadian Society.
He has too many awards and achievements to list and was always around to lend a helping hand.
He enjoyed watching all sports, but his love for golf, and work in the garden, kept him busy throughout his retirement years.
Aldo had some health issues during the last few years but still managed to smile at all of his many friends.
Aldo is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret Richichi; daughter Mary-Lou (Fred) Schneider, son; Rob (Rebecca) Richichi, grandchildren; Patricia, Jason (Annemarie), Michele (Jordan), Ryan, and Jeremiah, great grandchildren; Dana, Lire, Isabella and Seneca, his four brothers; Raffaele, Frank, Carmen, Tony and one sister Eda. His is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as an enormous amount of friends.
