Murray, Damon Jackson

It is with heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the passing of Damon Jackson Murray.
Damon, or DJ, passed away suddenly on July 30, 2022, aged 42, after a long battle with addiction. A loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, he will be greatly missed by his parents, Jeff and Lisa Murray (nee Schroeder); his sister Katy (Justin); his niece Sloane, his nephew Logan; his numerous friends and his cats.
Damon was passionate about his family, his cats Josie and Bentley, golf, hunting, fishing, being outdoors and spending time with friends. He had an immensely positive impact on everyone who knew him, an infectious smile and a way of listening to someone that made them feel heard. He worked at the Porcupine sawmill for many years and enjoyed all his coworkers and the good honest work there.
Born in 1980 in Nelson BC, Damon grew up in Ymir with his parents and sister. There were always wild outdoor adventures, Nintendo sessions on rainy afternoons, pancakes and cartoons on Saturday mornings, lazy floats down the river or just being quiet and restful with friends and family.
There will be no service and in his memory, donations can be made to any animal rescue in his name.
