Shirley was born Shirley Jean Callaghan on April 22, 1945 in Mcbride, BC and passed away on March 3, 2014 in Slocan, BC. A funeral mass was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Slocan on March 7, 2014. With Father David as celebrant.
She married Rudy Markovic on April 18, 1964 in McBride, BC.
Shirley is survived by her husband Rudy; her daughter Margaret; her son Robert, daughter-in-law Peggy, grand-daughter Sydney, grandson Derrick; and a large Callaghan family.
Her passions centered on her family, bird-watching, and her gardens. Shirley quietly lived her live giving to her family, friends, parish, and community. She cannot be easily defined or explained but is remembered for her generosity, her strength, and her laughter. Shirley is loved and she will be missed.
