Le Bihan, Hugo Gabriel

Hugo Gabriel Le Bihan passed away peacefully at the age of 71 years on June 13, 2019 at the Kootenay Lake Hospital in Nelson, BC, after a courageous attempt to beat pancreatic cancer. He is survived by Judi, his loving wife for 48 years; daughter Nicole; son Chris; daughter-in-law Naomi; grandchildren Hugo, Beau and Neve; and many nieces, nephews and canines. Gabe is predeceased by his mother Edna Le Bihan; father George Le Bihan; and sister Gale McCoy. Gabe was born and raised in Alberta, and in 1981 he settled in Kelowna, BC with his young family. He and Judi recently moved to Nelson, BC to live out their retirement years on a small farm.

Gabe was respected for his lifetime career as a professional engineer in structural design and his legacy in the Okanagan is reflected in the countless buildings that he proudly designed. He loved cycling, riding his motorcycle, watching sports and following advances in technology. He was always excited to build, fix or renovate a house. Gabe was known by his friends, family and colleagues for his calm confidence, no-nonsense attitude, strong work ethic and non-judgmental acceptance of everyone. He was fearless, genuine, loving and totally devoted to his family. He will be deeply missed by so many loved ones.
