Donald "Don" Frank Flood

Donald Frank Flood
1943-2014
Don was born in Kingston, Ontario October 23, 1943 and died in Nelson April 20, 2014 aged 70. He was a long-time resident of Nelson, where he worked as a lineman for the City of Nelson before retiring in 2003. Before that he worked for the Federal Government as a Meteorological Technician in various postings including Cambridge Bay, Nunavut in the High Arctic. He was educated at Salmo Secondary School and U.B.C., where he attained a B.A. During the last third of his life he became a Catholic, and his faith and his church were very important to him. He was a very shy, kind and loving man, beloved of all who knew him. He was a nature and animal lover, a patron of the arts, an avid reader and had a great appreciation for poetry, literature, fine art and classical music. Predeceased by his parents Viva and Frank Flood, he is survived by his dog Shadow, his brother Steve of Maple Bay, Vancouver Island, his sister Elspeth of Vancouver. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins; and by many friends including his close friends Ron and Sara, Danielle and James. He will be much missed by them, his neighbours and by his church community. Mass of Christian Burial was officiated by Father Conrado Beloso at the Cathedral of Mary Immaculate, Nelson, on April 23, 2014.
