Spence Cornell Cox
June 27, 1947 – March 1, 2011

After suffering a debilitating stroke in February 2008 and a courageous battle with cancer, Spence passed away peacefully on March 1, 2011.

Spence was born in Nelson, BC on June 27, 1947. He worked in construction throughout BC and Alberta. S

pence loved the outdoors, cooking and entertaining and was a muscle car enthusiast. He loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Europe with his family. Spence is survived by his wife Sandy of 25 years, his step son JD (Jen) Ekstrom of Calgary, step daughter Joleen (Greg) Kilpatrick of Nelson, four grand children, his parents Ron and Sheila Cox of Nelson, three sisters Vivian (David) Postlethwaite of Nelson, Ronda (Ken) Houlind of Cranbrook, and Karen (Charlie) Smart of Maple Ridge and a large extended family.

We will all miss his infectious smile and his wonderful sense of humour.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Nelson on May 21, 2011 at 1 p.m.
