It’s with heavy hearts the family of Dee Cook announces her passing on March 12, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer.
Mom worked for many years at the front counter at the Nelson Health Unit, Usually always greeting clients with a smile. That is where she met and made so many treasured friends. She was blessed to continue those relationships after her retirement with her beloved coffee club. Besides her family, mom’s one true love was gardening, always looking for that next special plant.
Predeceased by her husbands Allen Rae (1972) and Jim Cook (2005), son Brian Rae (1980) Mother Barbara Smith, sister Lynn Clowater, and brother Rick Smith. She is survived by all those she loved and who loved her, Son Gordon (Sandy), Jessica, Nicole and Jared. Daughter Donna (Harvey), Brian and Danika.
Her family would like to thank Lakeview Village (“her girls”) for the wonderful care and Kootenay Lake Hospital, 3rd floor staff, who showed so much love and compassion for mom in her final days. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Kootenay Lake Hospital or the SPCA. As per Mom’s request there will be no Service.
